Air Duct Cleaning FAQ for North Miami Homeowners
Straight answers to common questions about duct cleaning, dryer vents, and what to expect.
How often should air ducts be cleaned?
There is no single schedule that fits every home. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency suggests considering duct cleaning when there is substantial visible mold growth, signs of insects or rodents, or ducts clogged with excessive dust and debris. Many homeowners also schedule cleaning after a renovation, after moving into a new home, or when they notice dust coming from vents.
How long does air duct cleaning take?
It depends on the size of the home, the number of vents and AC systems, and how easy the ductwork is to access. A typical home visit takes a few hours. Larger homes and commercial spaces can take longer, and we’ll give you a better idea when we quote.
How much does duct cleaning cost?
We don’t publish set prices because every system is different. The cost depends on the number of vents and systems, the type of ductwork, and access. Call us or send the quote form and we’ll give you a free quote for your home or business.
Do I need to be home during the service?
An adult should be available to let us in, show us the air handler and vents, and go over the work at the end. If you can’t be there for the whole visit, let us know when you schedule.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Clear access to vents, return grilles, the air handler closet, and the attic access if there is one. Secure pets in a separate room, and let us know about parking, gate codes, or building rules ahead of time.
Why is dryer vent cleaning important?
Lint that gets past the lint screen collects in the dryer’s exhaust line and restricts airflow. Lint is also flammable, and the U.S. Fire Administration identifies failure to clean dryers as a leading cause of home clothes dryer fires. Signs of a clogged vent include long drying times, a hot laundry room, or a burning smell.
Will duct cleaning help with allergies or lower my energy bill?
We can’t promise either, and we’re wary of anyone who does. Cleaning removes built-up dust and debris from your ducts. Some homeowners notice less dust around vents afterward, but results vary and duct cleaning is not a medical treatment. If you have health concerns, talk to your doctor.
What is duct sanitizing and deodorizing?
It’s an optional treatment applied after your ducts are cleaned to help with lingering odors such as musty, pet, or smoke smells. If anyone in your home has sensitivities, ask us about the product before your visit. If an odor comes from an ongoing moisture problem, that source needs to be fixed too.
Do you clean ducts for businesses?
Yes. We offer commercial duct cleaning for offices, retail stores, restaurants, professional offices, and other commercial spaces, and we work with you on timing to keep disruption to a minimum.
